Are Reward Apps Worth Your Time in 2025
Today I’m diving back into reward apps to figure out if they’re actually worth the effort anymore. I tested apps offering gift cards, Satoshi-based systems, and all kinds of in-game currencies. Some of them gave real rewards, others just felt like a drag. My goal here was to go through each one personally so you don’t have to waste your time. Whether it’s an early access app or one of the bigger names, I wanted to see what’s changed in 2025 and if anything has improved.
Bus Jam Cat and Bus & Win Compared
The first app I looked at was Bus Jam Cat – Play To Win. It's in early access, and straight away I had my guard up. The whole game is basically a match-three style puzzle where you send little characters into color-matching buses. It’s the kind of setup where every level takes about a minute, and you’re hit with ads constantly.Later in the video, I tested Bus & Win: Traffic Jam. It's almost the exact same thing. Same game loop, same ad pattern, and even the same supposed reward structure. I tested them both just to see if Bus & Win did anything different — honestly, it didn’t.
Make Cash App and the Satoshi Reward System
Next I checked out Make Cash — yeah, that’s actually the name. You tap a graphics card in the middle of the screen and watch your supposed earnings go up. What stood out was the constant offer to watch ads to boost your income or upgrades. Now every time I watched an ad, I usually got a bit of Satoshi added to my balance. You’ll need a Zebedee wallet for this one. In my experience, once I hit 15 Satoshi I could cash out — and they did send it straight through. I ended up getting 36 Satoshi, which worked out to about 4 cents. Took roughly 30 minutes. It’s a cool concept if you're just curious about trying Satoshi rewards, but compared to task-based apps or survey platforms, there’s no comparison.
CashDuck and Task-Based Playtime Rewards
CashDuck was next up, and this one's all about playtime tasks. What I found is that you’re given a list of games, and depending on your country, the earnings will vary a lot. I tested one game called Merge Master that asked me to reach level 30, and it took about 30 minutes. What I liked was their bonus system — you can watch a few ads to get extra earning percentages. I stacked a few of those to boost my results. In total, I managed to get over 15,000 coins which brought me close to $1 worth of PayPal currency here in Australia. Definitely depends on your region, but I thought the experience was decent.
Gem Racer: Skill-Based Earning Without Purchases
Now I want to talk about my own app — Gem Racer. We've just rolled out a new update where you can convert 100 trophies into 5 Super Gems. The goal is still the same: survive as long as you can and climb the leaderboard. What’s cool is that everything’s based on skill — no purchases are needed at all.If you hit 500 Super Gems, you qualify to compete for the top leaderboard prizes. The better you do, the more rewards you can unlock. You can even show off your high score by toggling an option in the settings. We also added a new spider car skin just for fun. It’s my way of building something competitive without needing to spend anything.
JustPlay’s New Challenge System Reviewed
JustPlay dropped a pretty big update recently. At least here in Australia, they expanded the challenge area to give eight different tasks across different games. I completed all eight and got a bonus reward after about an hour of gameplay. On top of that, I earned loyalty coins from the games I played — and once the three-hour timer ended, my balance jumped. I started with just 2 cents and finished with over $1 worth of Australian currency. Personally, I still like grinding out Treasure Master the most, but I’m glad they’re trying to rotate the games more with these new challenges. It's a solid update and worth checking if you haven’t played JustPlay in a while.
