I Tested These New Reward Apps in 2025 — Here’s What Happened
Hi everyone, Vince here. A bunch of new game apps have popped up recently, all claiming to offer real-world rewards just for playing. But are they actually worth your time? That’s what I set out to find out. I tested three of the most talked-about titles right now — Match Gem, Animal Slots, and Plinko Rewards. Let’s go through them together and see how they actually perform.
Match Gem Claims to Pay for Matching Gems — So I Tried It
Match Gem is one of those puzzle apps that says you can earn rewards just by matching gems. Pretty standard match-three concept — you move a gem next to others and they disappear. What makes it stand out is the little bar at the bottom of the screen where it says your collected gems convert every few hours.
I played through to level 28 to get a proper feel for it. You get hit with ads pretty regularly, around every one to two minutes, which is expected with these kinds of apps. As I kept matching, I saw my in-game gem count increasing, and eventually the timer ended and the app allowed me to cash out. The process went smoothly, but whether it’s worth the effort — that’s up to you.
Animal Slots Looked Polished, but Here’s What Really Happened
Next was Animal Slots. Now, this one’s in early access, so I went in with low expectations — but I’ll admit, it looked cleaner and more polished than I thought it would. The gameplay is simple: spin, collect coins and gems, and try to multiply your results with different bonuses.
But again, the main issue here was the frequency of the ads. Sometimes you’d barely make a spin before another ad would appear. After some time playing, the app did let me cash out my gems. The experience was decent, and the app itself wasn’t bad visually, but if you’re not a fan of constant ads, you might struggle with this one.
Plinko Rewards Is Easily the Most Ad-Filled App I’ve Covered
Plinko Rewards stood out for all the wrong reasons. The entire experience is just non-stop ads. You drop the balls, collect gems, and then bam — another ad. I think I counted about four ads in just over a minute at one point, which was honestly rough.
Gameplay-wise, it’s extremely simple. Drop balls, try to hit certain pipes, and watch the numbers go up. But the level of ad intrusion made it pretty frustrating. Eventually, the app did allow me to cash out like the others, but it felt more like I was just watching ads the entire time rather than actually playing a game.
What I Learned After Testing These Apps
Each of the apps I tested functioned, and they all followed the same model — collect gems, wait for the timer, and then cash out if you meet the requirements. They all delivered rewards in some form, but what really stood out was how much time and patience it took, especially with the volume of ads you’re forced to sit through.
If you’re just curious about these apps or want to try them yourself, at least now you know what you’re getting into. For me personally, the value just isn’t there — but that’s your call to make.
Gem Racer Leaderboard Winners and What’s Coming Next
Before I wrap things up, here’s a quick update on Gem Racer Pixel Prizes. The leaderboard for the season has officially closed and winners have been announced. If you’re in the top three and haven’t messaged me yet, please do so — I’ve already sent out one of the rewards.
The next season will be starting soon, and you’re welcome to join in. Just play OBC Gem Racer and join the Discord to stay updated. Any in-app support helps grow the monthly prize pool, and everything is tracked live in the community.
